  ​My little brother's name is Himaka Theekshana . He is ten years old, and he is the "little troublemaker" of our home. He is incredibly naughty and full of energy, but he also has a wonderful talent—he can draw beautifully . ​Since he is the "tough guy" in our family, there are constant little fights and arguments at home because of him. However, beneath all that mischief, he is very loving . Whenever I return home for the holidays after work, he eagerly waits for me, hoping I’ve brought something special for him. I love him so much. ​His favorite food in the whole world is cheese . His birthday is coming up on May 20th , and I am planning to make him the happiest boy alive by gifting him the bicycle he has been dreaming of. I truly adore my mischievous little brother.

    My favorite hobby is raising cats. I have a very beautiful pet cat named Sukiri . He is quite naughty but also incredibly handsome. My favorite thing to do is play with him. ​Interestingly, his favorite food is Kottu Mee noodles ! Since I love eating them, he has gotten used to them too. Every now and then, he goes out hunting; when he does that, I scold him a little bit. ​He is very affectionate. Whenever my mind is weighed down with many problems, he comes and cuddles up against me. In those moments, I forget all my worries for a while. I truly believe he is my "blood pressure tablet." I love my Sukiri very much, and I know he loves me just as much.

​My sister's name is Ridmi Tharushika . She is 20 years old and is very beautiful. Although she can be a bit strict at times, she is actually very kind-hearted . ​She is a talented singer and has lovely long hair . In difficult times, she stays by my side and cares for me just like a mother . She has a great love for children, and her future ambition is to become a teacher . I wish her all the very best in achieving her dreams!  

  ​My father's name is Chaminda Susil Kumara . He is 54 years old and a carpenter by profession. He possesses an incredibly strong heart and mind. To me, my father is the most beautiful soul in this world. ​He has endured countless hardships for my sake, often sacrificing his own comfort and even his meals to ensure my well-being. My father has a great passion for cultivation and farming . ​My greatest wish is to provide him with a life full of happiness—a joy that far outweighs all the struggles he has faced. I pray to God to protect my father and keep him safe always❤️❤️

  ​My mother’s name is Gayani Nadika . She is 47 years old and is currently a housewife. To me, she is the most beautiful and courageous woman I have ever seen. Her smile is truly enchanting. ​Behind every single achievement in my life, there has always been my mother. She has a sweet tooth and absolutely loves eating chocolate cake . My mother has endured so many hardships and sacrifices to raise me and bring me to where I am today. My only wish in life is to ensure she lives the rest of her days happily, without any pain or sorrow. ​Currently, my mother is battling cancer . Every single day, I pray to God to heal her and release her from this illness as soon as possible. 🥺🙏

       M y school is W/Agrabodhi Maha Vidyalaya . It is a truly beautiful place. Although it is small in size, it holds a massive reputation for its excellence in education. Even with a student population of around a thousand, our school has produced world-class international champions. ​The temple located right next to the school adds to its serenity. However, what makes my school truly beautiful is the presence of our loving and dedicated teachers. Although this was not my first school, as I only joined for my Advanced Level (A/L) studies, it is the place where I gathered the most heartfelt memories. ​Because of this school, I met many wonderful friends who are invaluable to my life today. I truly love my school, which is filled with so many beautiful and cherished memories.

​Although I have been on many trips, my visit to Sembuwatta in Matale remains my most favorite experience. What made it so special was the breathtaking beauty and the profound tranquility of the environment. I feel incredibly happy that I was able to visit such a beautiful place with the people I love the most. We all enjoyed every bit of that journey. ​The serenity of the surroundings brought a great sense of relief to my mind. The entire landscape was draped in vibrant shades of green . The combination of the deep blue sky and the lush greenery felt truly healing for the soul. Both my friends and I cherished this wonderful experience. ​Adding to our luck, we also had the chance to witness the Matale Chariot Festival (Theru festival) . Finally, after three days, our journey came to an end, leaving us with a collection of beautiful memories that I will always treasure.

  ​While pursuing my higher education, I am currently employed at Keells in Wattala . This is my fifth job, and the wealth of experience I have gained through this role is immense. ​In this position, I am involved in preparing a variety of food items. Even though the work can be physically demanding and tiring at times, I perform my duties with great happiness and dedication. One of the most rewarding aspects of this job is the opportunity to meet many wonderful and valuable people who have enriched my life. ​My greatest source of happiness, however, is being able to support my family with my earnings. I use the income from this job to fund my own educational expenses as well as to provide for my mother’s and father’s medical treatments. Being able to look after them is a matter of great pride and joy for me. ​Working hard while managing my studies is a challenge, but knowing that my efforts contribute to my family's well-being makes every bit of hard work worth it.

  ​My best friend is Thilini , and she is currently pursuing her higher education at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura . She is an incredibly kind-hearted person. What I treasure most about her is how she has always stayed by my side, sharing in both my deepest sorrows and my greatest joys . ​Thilini has a very friendly and outgoing nature , and she treats everyone with kindness. She has a younger brother whom she cares for dearly. One of her favorite things to do is traveling and exploring new places. When it comes to her style, she looks most beautiful in a dress , which perfectly suits her graceful personality. ​I truly feel fortunate and blessed to have such a wonderful friend like Thilini in my life.

   My name is Malmi Tharushika, and I am 22 years old. ​I am currently living in Vavuniya, but I also work at Keells in Wattala while pursuing my higher studies at the University of the Visual and Performing Arts. Managing both work and studies has been a great learning experience for me. ​My biggest passion is dancing, and I  have a deep love for Kandyan dancing in particular. In my personal life, I value my friendships a lot, and Thilini is my best friend who has always been there for me. ​   Like everyone else, my life is a collection of many sweet and bitter memories that have shaped who I am today.
